A Safety Plan for Electrical Workers

The Electrical Safety Authority’s e-WorkSAFE app is designed specifically with the electrical worker in mind to reinforce CSA Group’s standard Z462’s principles and apply safety training already completed. Part of a larger suite of online electrical safe work planning modules, the mobile application requires an enterprise licensing agreement with the Electrical Safety Authority.
Designed with the front-line worker in mind, e-WorkSAFE Mobile is an intuitive tool that provides instant access to important electrical safety information at the ‘work face’, in front of the equipment, including the ability to generate a detailed safe work plan based on the specific electrical equipment to be worked on and the task to be performed. The tool also reminds workers about the specific elements of risk in the work that they’re about to do before they start, so safety is top of mind.
During review of the work plan, the worker can provide comments, note additional hazards, and attach photos of the work location to the plan. Once completed, the plan is instantly emailed to the worker’s supervisor providing real-time confirmation of unusual conditions at the work location.
Safety information provided to the worker may be simple or detailed, and includes:
Scope of work
Number of workers required to perform the task
Shock and arc flash hazards information
Identified hazards and mitigation techniques
Personal Protective Equipment requirements (shock and arc flash)
Voltage-rated and other tools required
Special precautions
Additional information may include (live) links to pertinent documents such as:
Equipment photographs
Single line diagrams
User manuals (maintenance, programming, etc.)
Company safety policies and procedures (e.g. lockout-tagout, etc.)
For additional information on the enterprise licensing agreement requirements, contact the Electrical Safety Authority at [email protected] or by calling 1-866-646-3277.
